I can do the socializing for the full day, but I will find myself taking a jaunt to the bathroom just for the minutes of quiet. I can literally feel my body relax and soften as the door closes behind me and I have time and space to myself. In the bathroom, or back in my hotel room, nothing is required of me, from my speech to my smile to my enthusiastic head nods and active listening. Nothing. And it brings a physical sense of relief. . . .
