In the quiet dormancy of winter, in the still solitude of snow cover, I forget - every year - that everything emerges with power and energy and a willingness and desire to start moving again. Including the clouds and the thunder and the lightning and the wind and the rain. Which roar through here. This Midwest landscape. This Southern Wisconsin river valley and almost-Driftless region. It's just another way of coming alive again.
